Checking the Hot End Heater Voltage at the Control Board

Should it be necessary to contact re:3D Support with issues regarding the hot ends, providing a voltage reading may be requested. Follow the instructions outlined below. 

Tools Needed: 

  • Multimeter

Instructions for Azteeg X3 Pro:

1. Use the Viki to set the left extruder temperature to 200°C by selecting "Control" > "Temperature" > "Nozzle 1."

2. While the hot end is heating, use the voltmeter to check the voltage between the two terminals circled in red (left two) as marked below. Record this reading.

3. Use the Viki to set the left extruder temperature to 200°C by selecting "Control" > "Temperature" > "Nozzle 2."

4. While the hot end is heating, use the voltmeter to check the voltage between the two terminals circled in purple (right two) as marked above. Record this reading. 

 

Instructions for Azteeg X3 V2:

1. Use the Viki to set the left extruder temperature to 200°C by selecting "Control" > "Temperature" > "Nozzle 1."

2. While the hot end is heating, use the voltmeter to check the voltage between the two terminals outlined in pink as marked below. Record this reading.

3. Use the Viki to set the left extruder temperature to 200°C by selecting "Control" > "Temperature" > "Nozzle 2."

4. While the hot end is heating, use the voltmeter to check the voltage between the two terminals circled in lime green as shown in the photo above. Record this reading.
