SD card not recognized by the Viki LCD Screen

In the event that the SD card is not recognized by the Viki LCD screen, here are the troubleshooting steps that you should follow to isolate the issue:


Suggestions:

  1. Turn the printer off and then back on again to see if it can now recognize the SD card.
  2. Try a different SD card
  3. Delete all files from your SD card and format it to FAT32
  4. Make sure your SD card is 16GB or less in storage size
  5. Try accessing the SD card through the "Machine Control Panel" of Simplify3D:
    1. Connect your Gigabot to your computer via USB
    2. Open Simplify3D
    3. Click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner to open the "Machine Control Panel"
    4. Click on "Print from SD Card" to Retrieve listing of G-Code files from SD card
    5. Are you able to access the SD card?​ If so, the Viki LCD screen will need to be replaced which you can purchase here: Link to Viki LCD screen. If not, please continue on to the next steps.

  6. Check the wiring of the Viki to Azteeg control board by following these steps:
    1. Turn off and unplug the Gigabot
    2. Open the electrical box
    3. Reference the electrical wiring diagram for your machine found in this article to check if the wires are in the correct position and properly seated: Electrical Wiring Diagrams
    4. If the wires are not plugged in correctly, please fix them and try to access the SD card again. 
    5. If it continues to malfunction, you will need to order a new Viki wiring harness found here: Link to Viki wiring harness
    6. If the wires are plugged in correctly but the wires do not have a strong grip on the pins, please try to reseat them such that they make good contact and grip on the pins. If it continues to malfunction, you will need to order a new Viki wiring harness found here: Link to Viki wiring harness
    7. If the wires are plugged in correctly and have good contact with the pins, then it is likely that the Viki LCD screen or the cable is failing. We suggest replacing the Viki first which you can purchase here: Link to Viki LCD screen. If this still does not solve the issue, replace the wiring harness: Link to Viki wiring harness
  7. If your problem is still not resolved, the next step is to replace your control board. Please email support@re3d.org for further assistance.
