Late last month Simplify 3D upgraded to their newest version. While some of the modifications are pretty cool, other changes have affected the performance of Gigabot 3D prints.
If you have a working pre-August 2017 version of Simplify we are recommending you KEEP that version on your machine, and NOT upgrade.
The latest version has some bugs in it that we are ironing out. Our Houston operations team is in communication with S3D developers and are aware of the problems.
Will update with future developments.

Matthew Fiedler The most stable version of Simplify3D is V3.1.3
The new 4.0 version seems to have a few kinks that need to be worked out. You can read more here: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewforum.php?f=8&sid=9d441f7096f0a3921b83ae54cdd71f3d
We would love to hear your feedback on what you like and don't like if you are using the new Version 4.0
Happy Printing

Carlos Pozo Haha...i just found this post after posting in the troubleshooting topic.
Thanks for the heads up. I will downgrade. -
Todd Ronan You are always on the cutting edge Carlos! Did you have any trouble downgrading? Thanks for the feedback!

Carlos Pozo Todd,
I was drawn by the new S3D changes. what I loved is that the raft, the spiral print and the on the fly layer thickness change.
To downgrade I had to chase all the files S3D had installed because it remembered all my previous settings. later I found out that you could got to the "About" menu and there is an option to forget and erase all settings making a factory reset on the software.

Carlos Pozo Was there a fw update to solve the Simplify3d 4.0 issues?

Matthew Fiedler Hi Carlos,
You can find the latest .fff profile for Simplify3D 4.0.0 on our WIKI here: http://wiki.re3d.org/index.php?title=Installing_and_using_software_with_Gigabot#Simplify3D
The profiles for GB3 and GB3+ have been updated for Simplify3D 4.0. The ones for GB2 will be ready in a couple days.

Shawn Fitzpatrick Version 4.0.1 is now out, any comments on whether this has resolved your concerns?
It would also be nice if you guys could remember to comment on which profile is recommended for use with the Open GB whenever you post new profiles. Its kind of a pain to have to go look that detail up once every six months or so, and it leaves me feeling like the red headed step child no one wants to admit exists or something LOL... which is a shame as the Open GB really is a nice machine.

Matthew Fiedler Hi Shawn,
My oversight :( Here is the S3D 4.0.1 .fff file for OGB - http://wiki.re3d.org/index.php?title=Installing_and_using_software_with_Gigabot#OpenGB
I don't mean to leave anyone out! I think there are still a few bugs in the software though the benefits FAR outweigh the negatives. I think you will find the same.
How are things going with your Gigabot? What kind of things are you printing?
