Seating Hot End Correctly
I couldn't find any information on what the Hot End should look like when its properly seated in the Extruder. As shown in this short video clip there is a HUGE difference between a well seated Hot End with its retaining screw tightened verses one that is not well seated.

Matthew Fiedler, please review when you can and confirm that my observations are correct.

Hey Shawn,
There is about 0.1" of vertical movement permissible with the hot end. The absolute vertical position is not important so long as both hot ends are level with each other.
The procedure I use to level the hot end is to loosen the clamping screw on each hot end and move both as far down as possible. One will inevitable be a slight bit lower than the other. Tighten the clamping screw until a slight resistance is felt yet loose enough that you can still adjust the lower hot end. Raise that one until they are both level. Finish tightening the clamping screws and re-check they are both level with respect to the lowest part of the hot end. Please note the tip needs to be clean so that you are registering a true reading of level.
