Gcode Size limit?
Hello OpenGB community,
Just wondering what the largest gcode file you've tried to run is. I've have a large, heavily textured print that I've been trying to run and I've tried it at various settings but they all either don't upload in the app (without any message or error displayed), or if they're larger than 200mb, the app just crashes when trying to upload.
If anyone could try to upload this to their OpenGB to see if it works, I'd appreciate it! https://www.dropbox.com/s/fyf8y11wep0og2o/TallestTotemTopClean.gcode?dl=0

Hi Michah,
I can't speak about the OGB App on Raspberry Pi as I don't have it connected to anything at the moment (in the middle of flashing it with a different OS image for the fun of it) but I can load your gcode into both Pronterface and Simplify3d without any issues. You likely know this, but you can print from either directly from your PC with the USB connected to it instead of the OGB App.

So I attempted to upload the file as well and I am getting the same problem as you so it has been replicated with the same results so it is the app. I also tried to push it to the app from my computer and it just crashed the webpage. We have noted the issue and will be moving forward to hopefully solve it.

Thanks guys. While issues with the app are getting straightened out, I'm just going to get pronterface running on the Pi. Good to have that installed on there anyways!

Well I got Pronterface running on the Pi but alas, it is also unable to load the gcode file due to memory limitations. Pronterface on the desktop also crashes when trying to load the file, so it seems like it might be a limitation with how Pronterface is designed. It looks like Simplify might be my best option at this point.
Since keeping my laptop plugged in to the machine is not an option, I've ordered a $95 Windows 10 tablet to use as a dedicated monitor for the machine. You can see the tab here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018X8M670/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The tablet has a new quad-core Atom processor (not crazy fast but surprisingly decent), 2gb of RAM, and a full-sized USB port. The USB port was the hardest thing to find in this price-range and form factor.
I've already designed a new holder for it that fits on Re:3D's tablet mount so once I get the new tablet up and running, I'll share the new holder and my thoughts in a new post.

I wonder why Pronterface crashed loading the file on your desktop, but I didn't have any troubles with it at all. Makes me wonder if its going to work on your Tablet or not. How much ram does your desktop computer have?

To reduce the load on Pronterface you can turn off the toolpath visualizer under Settings -> Options -> Viewer
Let me know if that helps.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Pronterface is crashing since I've got 32gb of ram. No matter, I'll just print from Simplify. Simplify actually seems to use less ram than Pronterface in general which was surprising.
Also, I had the visualizer turned off so it couldn't be that on the Pi side of things. Hopefully this Windows tab works out.

I can confirm that I've also been able to reproduce this behaviour when attempting to upload TallestTotemTopClean.gcode to OpenGB.
I'll investigate further in the next few days to try to get to the bottom of it. To track progress I've created a Github issue here:
