Ghost printing
Hello everyone. I'm printing this job that keeps on going into ghost printing every single time. I'm able to recover the job and finish it but it always happens at layer 9. I was thinking it may be the filament as it is somewhat old but the fact that it happens almost always at the same layer, it makes me wonder if that's the issue. To restart it, aside from editing the code to restart on the correct layer, I have to remove the nozzle from the extruded, pull out the filament, remove whatever material is left in the extruder, and reinsert the filament. It sometimes fails again but it usually finishes fine. It is a large job that takes 9 hours to print. Also, This happened with other jobs I was testing but this is the first actual large print job I'm working on.

From your description, it sounds like maybe you had a nozzle jam which prevented the filament from properly extruding. Is that accurate? The fact that it was always happening at the same layer (how far/long in?) makes me wonder if there is a specific geometric feature on your print which is problematic for the extruder's speed, etc.
Can you provide some more details about the failure?0
