    Yes! You will need to have two different .stl files and assign one extruder (color) to each .stl file. Here is an example of doing this in Simplify3D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPufaJhyqME&list=PLogLRK5xzNdieu445p2O7wODJpQBVf-Ss

    Thats the thing this is just one object. It isn't like the vase in the video that is two different parts.

    Unfortunately, at this time the only way to programatically instruct the machine to print two different colors on a single layer is by having two different models (.stl files) in Simplify3D. 

    There second option is to manually edit the .gcode file at the specific point of the print and insert the instruction to pause the print, heat the second extruder and then continue printing using the second extruder. If you would like to try this method and are not comfortable editing the gcode you can send the file to support@ and also indicate the exact point you wish to change colors (extruders).
