In this article we will walk you through how to print with the USB cable. This is not recommended for normal operation, but is especially useful when troubleshooting your printer. It can be used to determine if the Viki LCD screen, Viki cable, and SD card are potential reasons for causing your print to fail. It is also helpful so that you can monitor the print with the "Temperature Plot" should you be having thermal issues like heating failed or thermal runaway errors. Here is how to print over the USB cable in Simplify3D:
- First, connect your Gigabot in Simplify3D according to these instructions: Connecting to your Gigabot via USB
- Use this photo for the following steps:
-
- With the Machine Control Panel open, click on "G-Code Library"
- If you don't see the .gcode file you'd like to print, click on "Add to Library" and select your file from your computer's file folders
- When you are ready, click on the file you'd like to print, then press the "Run Selected G-Code" button
