1st Round Test Print (Wrong Profile)
Progress! Thanks for the info on bed leveling Mike. It helped a lot.
OK, the first one kind of looks like a birds nest, but I then tightened up the gap between the print head and the bed, then put down some double sided tape to stick it better and re-applied the Gigabot machine profile (I thought I had done this but when I checked it said Reprap...) and the next one is much better. Still not as good as the alum powder sample from Shapeways but not bad to my first print at all.
I also skipped the filament calibration step and leveled the bed with a business card for a feeler gauge rather than using a dial gauge...
We are also supposed to print just a 20mm x 20mm x 20mm cube for our first print but well, this seemed more fun!
A few things that can be tightened up for sure, but big progress today! Woot!!!
EDIT: This demonstrates how important the RIGHT Profile is - once we got the RIGHT profile we were away to the races.

Awesome to see it is working!!! can't wait to see what else you will print. I added this guide to the wevolver if you are having any issues with the profile installation

Robert, I notice that wevolver does not initially show all five steps when I click on your link above. You need to select another menu item in wevolver then come back to the Simplify3D section in the getting started guide before it shows all five steps. Seems to be a bug in their system.
*Also wonder if we should eliminate the filament purge in the start gcode to avoid the plume of extruded filament hanging onto the hot end?

Shawn, Can you please send your .factory file to support@. It looks like you are getting over-extrusion. Your print should look much better than that.

Thanks Robert. As you know, your Wewolver post was made Friday, which is after the last time I was on the Wewolver site with my being away for four days. I wasn't aware that the official OpenGB profile was available last night when I finally got the bed leveled properly, so I was just using the Gigabot profile just so I could try and see it print something :)
Matthew, I sent the .factory file off to support though I expect that now I have been given access to the correct profile, that it will print better. I will give it another try and see what happens.
Looking forward to getting the bed heating issue resolved as well.

MUCH better just based on the first couple of layers.

Yes :) The profile you were using is for a GB2 based machine. The main differences are the nozzle size from 0.5mm (GB2) to 0.4mm (OGB) and the extrusion multiplier calibration (1.7X difference) Looking forward to seeing your 1st *calibrated* print!
