    Hi Mario,

How soft does the mold need to be? I typically would 3D print the positive and use traditional mold making tools from Smooth On. There are a lot more options in material when you make a traditional mold. To 3D print a mold the only material I can think of is ninjaflex.

    Hello Mike,

Thank you for your answer. What do you think about to use PET as component material and HIPS like support material (removable with limoneno)so I think we can get a better surface in areas where filament is needed.

    Best Regards.

    Mario.

I've had quite good results using HT-PLA. Can withstand temperatures upto 100C after tempering/baking.

Just be careful when you bake it, and make sure to leave all the supports on as when it heats up it looses its structural integrity.

But as Mike said, the vast majority prefer to print the positive and then pour liquid silicone around it, or similar molding products, and make the mold that way.
