Overview:
The extruder tensioner arm setting is necessary to ensure proper extrusion of the filament from the hot ends. Too little tension will lead to grinding of the filament and under-extrusion, and too much tension can lead to motor issues and under-extrusion as well.
Instructions:
Unibody Extruder:
Please verify your extruder body tensioner arm screws look like those in the photo below -- the nuts should be halfway visible in the window.
Metal Body Extruder:
The set screw in the top of the extruder body holds the spring in place and provides the force needed to press against the filament. This screw should be 1mm (1 turn) deeper than the top of the extruder body like the photo below:
