To move a Gigabot from one location to another that is not in the same building, you will need to watch the first half of this important video which contains the necessary steps for securing it: Link to Video. The latter half of the video deals with the crating of the Gigabot, so we are only concerned with first half where it goes through how to prepare it for the moving.
If the Viki is protruding and you are worried about it getting damaged, you may also remove the mount from the frame. It is attached with screws to the frame similar to how the spool holders are mounted. Wrap it in protective material and secure it to the top of the electrical box with tape to prevent it from being damaged.
In a vehicle, prepare the place where the Gigabot will be placed by laying down foam padding to protect the Gigabot from scratches and vibrations. The Gigabot can be laid on any of its sides except for its back where the electrical box and Viki are, or it can be packed upright. If you opt to pack Gigabot upright, make sure to remove the rolling platform (if you have it) and secure that elsewhere in the vehicle. It's best to tie down the Gigabot for travel with ratchet straps.
After moving Gigabot to its new operating location, you will need to go through the process of checking its bed calibration. Below you can find the instructions to do so:
- To level the bed, please follow the instructions in this article: Link
- Then calibrate the z home position as described in these instructions: Link
